E Nicolas Urbain paints using traditional oil on canvas methods and focuses on first people inspired paintings of animals. His paintings seek to bring us back to our roots, back to when humans lived in harmony with nature. Urbain's paintings could even be described as a modern take on cave paintings. The bright colors and outlines are meant to evoke movement and create a visceral reaction.

Urbain seeks to highlight the current plight of biodiversity through his work: all animals are impacted and indeed many are threatened by mankind's never ending reach across the planet.

Urbain also explores other existential themes such as contemporary urban lifestyle and human interactions with animals e.g.  fishing and polo.
